About us

3rd Salisbury Sea Scouts is one of 14 Scout groups in the Salisbury and South Wilts District.

We have three sections at the Scout Group that all meet at our Scout Hut in St Marks Avenue. Our Group is for every faith and background; we welcome adults to join us as Leaders and supporters.

The group is managed by our Group Scout Leader Paul Hughes and supported by a very dedicated Executive committee led by our Chair Chris Barnard.

Beavers – aged 6 – 8, who meet on Tuesdays 6pm – 7pm
Cubs – aged 8 – 10½, who meet on Thursdays 6pm – 7.30pm
Scouts – aged 10½ – 14, who meet on Thursdays 7.45pm – 9.15pm.
Scout sailing – Fridays from 6pm to 8pm at  WWYSA, Westbury April to October

Each section is led by Leaders who have undergone special Scout Leader training and are supported by assistant section leaders and parent helpers. All the adults running and supporting the sections have gone through the regulatory CRB checks. Most adult supporters have also undertaken a child protection course and first aid course the same as the Leaders.

Many of our Scouts come back to the group to do their community service for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme or to carry out their Scout ‘Young Leader’ training as an Explorer Scout.

If you would like to know more about each section, please visit the sectional pages for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

If your son or daughter would like to join our Group, then please contact the leader in charge of the appropriate section for the availability of places.

If you are an adult and want to join the ‘adventure’ with our group, then contact our Group Scout Leader Paul Hughes.
